Patreon x Creator Camp

From Bedroom to Big Screen

Patreon & Creator Camp came to us with an epic project - launching the next A24 of internet filmmaking with a 3 day festival in Austin, Texas. They needed an attention commanding film bug to play before each short that honoured the history of film making and embraced the future of independent creatives forging their own path. We worked closely with the Patreon team to conceive, design, fabricate and shoot a 5 ft metal zoetrope that spun 12 cameras to play an animation before revealing the Patreon Logo in side profile. The Zoetreope was built in-house from custom fabricated steel parts, 3D printed mounts & scavenged film projectors as well as a custom build motion-control dolly for the 4m move.

Leaning into the independent creator aesthetic, animation was hand inked & scanned for display on each individual screen
